Since its establishment in 2000, Mitanyen Cooperative Credit Union Limited (MitaCCUL) has been on an unwavering path of growth, empowering individuals and businesses with financial solutions tailored to their needs. From humble beginnings, we have expanded our reach across multiple regions, increasing membership, staff strength, and service accessibility.
Establishment and Early Growth
2000: Established with 437 members and 1 staff member.
Head Office opened at Sonac Street, Bamenda.
Focus: Providing financial solutions to a small but determined group of cooperators.
2004: Opened Pinyin Branch – Membership grew to 2,586, staff strength increased to 7.
2005: Opened Douala Akwa Branch – Membership at 3,244, staff strength at 9.
Strengthening Presence
2009: Yaoundé Branch established, extending financial inclusion to the capital city.
Membership surged to 5,339, staff strength increased to 15.
2012: Opened Buea Branch – Membership reached 6,634, staff strength grew to 22.
Expansion and Accessibility
2015: Santa Branch opened, bringing membership to 8,550, with 29 staff members.
2016: Food Market Branch launched, serving a growing base of 9,310 members with 35 staff.
2017: Opened Mamfe Branch, growing the cooperative to 9,919 members and 36 staff.
Widening Reach and Service Improvement
2022: Strengthening the Coastal and Western Presence
Bafoussam Branch opened.
Douala Bonamoussadi Branch launched.
Membership surged to 13,012, with a workforce of 61 staff members.
2023: Expanding to Serve More Communities
Opened Limbe Branch and Douala Bonaberi Branch.
Membership reached 13,840, with 73 staff members.
